I actually look forward to this post each week. Sassy Cheryl of Sassy Cheryl's Digitals generously puts up a free digi image and all you have to do is post a picture of what you have going on in your life over on the Sassy Cheryl Blog. It can be a picture of a card or project you're working on, the creative mess you've made in the creation, or even pictures of your uber organized space(this one you're never going to see from me). All of this is just a disguised way of noseying around in other peoples lives and getting to know them better. I know that's I've discovered new ideas and made some new friends along the way.
This past week fall has hit in a major way in my part of the world. As most of you know I live in Mississippi in the Southern part of the United States. There are several reasons that it's a great place to live, but one of them is that even though we don't usually have very bad winters(little to NO snow), we do get all 4 seasons, and they're usually spectacular. After this past summer's drought and blistering heat, I feared our fall would lack the beautiful colors we usually have. Thankfully the leaves didn't all turn brown and fall off the trees in one day. With the first cool snap we actually started seeing some colors. So this morning I wanted to share my world with you.
This first picture I made this morning. This is the view from my office window. It's a gorgeous day here, and most days I can see fox squirrels and gray squirrels out playing chase.
This second picture is one of the views that I see each morning when I walk with my walking buddy. This is the view at our almost turning around spot. You can't really tell much, but I promise the leaves, they are a changing.
This final picture is the canopy of trees on the road to our camphouse. I've seen commercial shots that this can compare to.
I have to say Spring and Fall are probably my two favorite seasons, but I'm so glad that I get to see them all. What's your favorite season?
Now go out and make a pic of what's happening in your life and join us on SMT.
Oh Shirley, I feel like I took a walk with you. That third picture reminds me of the avenue of oaks in Gone With The Wind. That plantation and avenue is still preserved in Charleston, SC. I am with you on Spring and Fall being my favorite seasons, but Fall has to be my favorite. I can go outside without sneezing. We suffer greatly here with the Spring Pine Pollen. Ha Ha
ReplyDeleteAnd. . . . .I ALWAYS look forward to your posts too! I was having withdrawals while you were busy the last few weeks!
ReplyDeleteThe leaves are changing here too, but of course I don't get to see them unless I take a drive. Lucky for me that you walk . . . .because these photos are lovely.
Thanks for playing in the SMThursday fun this week.
Fall is my fav of all seasons...color...Love the color and I get a break from mowing. Still have not gotten back into the studio like I hoped for the 2 part time jobs are taking a tole on me. Thanks for sharing your land and I hope to show you my Oregon...Tootsie
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your posts, Shirley. Such lovely views that you've shared with us! Golly, I wish I could take that walk with you. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not complaining, but we did get another 3 inches of snow last night so I have about 12-14 inches in my yard. it was inevitable, but I was in denial this year!!
Like you, I enjoy all four seasons. It seems we usually only get two here in Alaska!!
