It's the tale end of the week for SMT(you know Sassy Cheryls personal challenge to show your work space for a chance to win a free image), but I'm bound and determined, I'm going to show you my world for this week. When I say Spring is Sprung, I mean just that. It's not even April 1st and the pecan trees are budding out and leafing. These are the latest trees around here to bloom and leaf, so when they start you can pretty much say Spring is over. You'll notice in the background in this shot the oak trees that are fully leafed out. My walking buddy and I were talking this morning, how spring this year has been like time lapse photography with the overnight budding and leafing.
Across the road from the pecan tree is an open area and the red clover is in full bloom. It's just so much prettier than the white clover, although my DH assures me that the deer prefer the white to the red. What do they know?
This picture is just at the edge of the road and in the entrance to a neighbor's drive. The irises are peak today, and I didn't want to miss this shot. The knots sticking up in the ditch are cypress knees. Just seeing these bright yellow blooms raises the spirits, not to mention the mid-80 degree temps and the sunny skies.
I've also been working on wedding invitations for my neighbor's son and his bride to be. Here's a pic of my table top when I left last night. I have all of the vellum overlays on the backs.
Here's a final shot of the finished invitations. So for that stack you're looking at in the previous picture, I need to fold down the back flap over the vellum and weave the ribbon. I also need to get the return addresses on the envelopes.
Camp Taz starts today, so next week's SMT will be all about camp. I don't think there's going to be much crafting going on.
It may be too late for you to get an entry in this week for SMT over on Sassy Cheryl's Blog, but a new one starts tomorrow. How can you pass up the chance at a free Sassy Cheryl image?
OMGoodness Shirley. What gorgeous photos. I just love each and every one of them. I really like the one with the Irises and the cypress knees. You know I've never heard of those. Way too cool.
