It's almost the end of time to post a challenge card for the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog, but at least I'm not the absolute last minute getting my challenge card made. The DT did an absolutely an amazing job with creating projects with Outdoor Fun & Games as a theme. They set a very high bar.
For my challenge card, I went with creating a scene. I, however, chose to use an image from the old store called Indiana Jo. Back in my youth, I would have thought this might be lots of fun, but with age come wisdom or maybe fear. Those cattails look like a good place for an alligator or a snake to hang out, so no thank you. The image is colored with PrismaColor and Faber Castell Pencils.
The tree and the cattails are all from the Silhouette America Online store. I used Judy and Dawn's cloud stencil method to create the sky. Everything is raised with pop-up tape to give dimension.
Now I'm off to bed. I've got fantastic plans for tomorrow, that include getting a bedroom emptied in preparation of stripping wallpaper and maybe cleaning out a refrigerator. If you'd like to join me, I can play Tom Sawyer with the best of them.
Ok! now, this is a Judy card if I ever saw one! I LOVE IT.. pencil coloring and cattails and perfect clouds.. it doesn't get better than this! your coloring is perfect! I think I have this sweet little guy, forgot all about him... perfect for making a scene card!

ReplyDeleteWOW, Mz. Shirley-talk about labor intensive! This isn't just a card. I really think you ought to frame it in a shadow box---sooo special! I'm with you-I would NOT be swinging out over the water especially in your neck of the woods! Hope all is going well with your bedroom project!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you joined us this week for the Sassy Cheryl's challenge!
Shirley, Love your card and I am glad that I didn't read your Tom Sawyer invite until today :) Your scene is awesome, love the cattails which for some reason always intreagued me and I even have a dried one on my computer desk from one of our ponds :) I know I am a strange one :) Love your coloring with your pencils and you learned the cloud lesson well, yours are gorgeous. Thanks for playing the Sassy Cheryl's challenge this week. Have fun with your stripping and cleaning project :)
ReplyDeleteI guess you know the comment above is from me, I hate having to check in and out of my two accounts :( Cathy
ReplyDeleteToo, too funny. I am with you about the rope swing. Looks like it would be fun in my younger days, now it just looks like a mosquito infested watering hole. Perspective with age, lol. Great work on this Shirley. The pop-up dimension rocks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun scene, Shirley! Congrats on your Sassy Cheryl win this week. Woo-Hoo!
