Show Me Thursday Shrimp Boil

This past Saturday was our annual Round about the 4th Shrimp Boil down at Tibbee Bluff. It's an event that includes men, women and children.

I thought I would share with you some of the younger attendees to the Shrimp Boil for my Show Me Thursday post at Sassy Cheryls Blog. I've had the pictures ready to post, but somehow time got away from me  with babysitting on Monday, cleaning deep freezes on Tuesday(didn't want to share a picture of me hanging upside down in the freezers), and cleaning the Camphouse this morning.

DH has a sister named Lucy, she has a granddaughter named Lucy Jane. He also has a brother who has a granddaughter named Lucy Ann. It's funny that they are the only two redheads in the family. This is a picture of our Lucys.

My SIL, the co-hostess bought some of those decorated cookies for the dessert table. I'm sure every mom is still muttering under their breath. Seems she didn't know that food coloring doesn't easily wash out of clothes. This is a picture of DBIL's grandson, Corbin, 1st cousin to Lucy Ann after playing hard and having one of said cookies.

This is a picture of the second cousins. The girls are sisters and the boys are first cousins and second  cousins to the girls.

I have to end with this picture. This is Corbin at the end of the night at the Shrimp Boil. Can I say I know exactly how he felt. One minute he was sitting up awake and watching TV, and the next he was out for the count.

Someone asked for the Comeback Sauce recipe. Here it is. My niece says it's good on anything, including crackers. I know for a fact it's good on shrimp, chicken, tomatoes and baked potatoes.

                                     Comeback Sauce
1 cup mayonnaise                                           1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
½ cup vegetable oil                                        2 cloves garlic, pressed
¼ cup ketchup                                                1 small onion, minced(I puree it)
¼ cup chili sauce                                            2 dashes Louisiana hot sauce
1 Tbsp. black pepper                                      2 dashes paprika
1 Tbsp. prepared mustard                               2 Tbsp. water

Blend all ingredients together. It’s better if you make it the day before. Use with any raw vegetable or great with shrimp. Keeps well in the refrigerator.

As most of you know, my DH is one of 14 children. They have been blessed with long lives. 13 of the 14 are still with us. They range in age from 90 to 60. Don't know how many more of these pictures we're going to get, but we take them every time we can. These 13 are responsible for 26 1st cousins and 39 second cousins.

  1. Thank you for sharing the family photos. The kidlets are adorable in red, white and blue and the large family photo is a memory to cherish.
