SCamp SMT

As you have probably read on some other posts, we had a gathering of some of the Sassy Cheryl's PCP group this past week at my camphouse. I can't begin to tell you how much fun we had. We had tutorials in Prisma Pencils, Word Art creation, Shabby Chic card making, and using the Cameo to name a few. We also created a scrapbook Cookbook thanks to some unbelievable effort on the part of Terri Dunnewin.  I hate you all can't have a copy of it, because it's going to be a treasured keepsake for me.

Oh and I forgot to mention the food, which was absolutely awesome. Cec loves to cook, and we let her.

We had an absolutely FAAB-U-LOUS time. Here are some pictures that were made during the week of fun.

Judy gave us coloring lessons with Prismas. Can you pick out Judy's Snowman?

It's A Birthday Challenge and It's a Good Thing

This week's challenge on the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog is to create a Birthday project. Man did this one ever work for me. I've actually had the card made for a week, but I'm so busy getting ready for my camps including the FIRST EVER SASSY CHERYL SCAMP, that I almost forgot to blog it.

For once I'm not using a Sassy Cheryl image, and  I promise you there's a very good reason. Here's the story behind the card. This card is for my 1st cousin once removed( my first cousin's daughter). According to her, I'm her other mother. We started eating out with them on Friday night's shortly after she arrived in this world.  One of our favorite places to eat was a diner called Buck and Helen's. You placed your order at the front, they would give you a ticket with your order number on it.  When your meal was ready they would call your number.

She had a very active imagination, and after dinner each week, we would go back to their home, where she would play pretend. When Peggy was about 4, she loved to play restaurant when we'd get back to the house. She'd take our orders, then go create our meal with her plastic food. Then she'd call our number. For some unknown reason. she always called TWEEENNNNTY-ONNNNEEE in a slow Southern drawl.

This image is from Marjies Malarkies. I've had it for years and knew exactly what I was going to do with it. Peggy turned 21 this past Saturday, so this was her Birthday Card. Someone asked me if she would get it? I have it from her mother that not only did she get it,  but so did her roommates with whom she must have shared the story.

The papers are from Shery K Designs Cupcake Kit and scraps.

And that's the rest of the story. Thanks for stopping by.

Let Me Show You My Neighbor's Place

It's time for another Show Me Thursday Post for the Sassy Cheryl's Blog. Just for showing what's going on in your world(and it doesn't have to be what you're working on either), you're entered to win a SC image. Not to mention you get  a chance to see what your fellow crafters are doing.

This week, my walking buddy is on vacation. While she's gone, I'm taking care of the animals along with watering the porch plants(this one might have been a mistake as I have a totally brown thumb). The animals consist of Jack, the deaf cat. I go down in the morning, feed him and let him out of the garage and then have to go back each afternoon to put in for the night. Since he can't hear, anything could get him. I also feed the ducks. There were three ducks to start with, but now there are only two and a bunch of feathers by the water. Now you know why I'm putting Jack in the garage every night.

My neighbor has a woodpile right beside the garage and there is the most awesome growth of cosmos. I think she just through out some seeds and they came up. I could have purposely planted them and never gotten these kind of results.

And here's a close-up of one of the flowers.

We've had fog the last couple of mornings. When there's a fog, you get the most amazing few of the spider webs that are on the ground. They almost look like white flowers. In this first picture, if you look down in the bottom left corner, you can see some spider web flowers.

This second picture is a close up on one of the webs. Pretty amazing isn't it.

Thanks for stopping by, and if you ever come to see me and you want to see flowers, I'll take you to her house.

Let's Think About Fall

Believe me, I've been more than thinking about it. I've been  praying for it, and I think it's finally arrived. Our leaves are finally starting to turn, and we've even had some temps down in the 40's at night. And what does this have to do with a card making blog you ask? It seems that the challenge this week on the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog is to create a Fall card.  Since I just sent off a box of fall cards to OWH, and the fact that I didn't have time, there's only one card this week.

This cute image is called Sally Swings, and she can be found at the Sassy Cheryl's Store. Personally I call her Sally Swings into Fall with those blowing leaves. She's colored with Copics.Cheryl's got a 30% off sale today in honor of Columbus Day, so rush right on over. She's got the cutest Sally Turkey image you ever did see.

The papers are from two kits from Little Cherries at Shery K Designs called Thanksgiving and Fall. Shery K Designs has all their digital kits on sale Oct. 8 -10 for 60% off. Since she has the most reasonably priced digital papers out there, this is a chance for a steal. 10 paper packs for $1 that you can print over and over again. Tell me how you can lose?

The sketch is this week's Tuesday Morning Sketches. I missed the deadline for posting, but I loved the sketch.

Off to get this posted and then I have to go to the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by.

Almost out of Time for SMT

Time is running out for my SMT post for the Sassy Cheryl Blog, so I decided I better get off my duff and get my post done. It's not that I haven't been doing anything, just the opposite. The deadlines for OWH Christmas cards is October 31. I have two camps coming up that start on Oct. 17 and go through Oct. 29. I need time in front for some prep for camp, so I've spent the last week filling up my box going out to OWH. I have one more set of cards to make, and I'll be good to go.

So here are the cards I've created since last Thursday.  All card parts were created with the Silhouetted Design Studio Software and then print and cut with my Cameo. Can I tell you how much I love this machine?
CASEd from Card Creations Volume 10. Paper was created using the text function of the Silhouette Software.

This card is CASEd fro a card I saw in  magazine. The light bulb is a Silhouette Cut file.
Card Sketch from CAS. Papers and elements from Nitwit Collections Giddy Up kit.
Sketch was from Card Creations Volume 10. The papers are elements are all from Just So Scrappy 2's digital kit Santa Baby.

Papers and elements from Nitwit Collections Lodge Creek Collection.

CASEd from Card Creations Volume 10. Paper patterns are mostly fill patterns from Silhouette.

CASED from a magazine. The crayons are an free svg file from Cutfiles.Net.
The Dahlias are a Silhouette cut file that I simple duplicated and print out instead of cutting. The paper rainbow strip was created with the fill Cased from July 2012 CardMaker.

Also CASED from the July 2012 CardMaker Magazine. The dotted shape was created by printing a rhinestone pattern from Silhouette and the ladybug was created using an element from Just So Scrappy 2's Ladybug Kit.
This is my box almost full of cards. One more set of standard A2's and the oversized cards in front will go on top.
